Attendance

Regular attendance is ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL in this class. I will strictly enforce the school attendance policy. If you are absent it is your

responsibility to see me during the first Academic Intervention that you return to school.  I will not seek you.

Classroom Management

 I can not overstate the importance of taking excellent class notes. They will be of great help not only for the test preparation this year, but also for reviewing for the semester exam. Everyone is expected to take an active part in class on a daily basis. When you enter this room, be prepared to think, ask questions, and make comments. If you have difficulties in this class, feel free to drop by for extra help.

If special problems arise, see me as soon as possible, so that we can work things out. If you are having "one of those days", let me know before class

begins so that I can accordingly make allowances.

Make Up Work Policy

It is the responsibility of the student to manage his or her make-up work. You must get the assignments, take the make-up tests etc.  Classroom activities and

work expected to be completed prior to the next class meeting can be found at: THE DAILY CHECK IN. You will be expected to use the course website and other tools to avoid falling behind.

1. Excused Absences:

With regard to make-up work, an excused absence permits the students to make up the work for credit. Students will be given one day to make up their work for each day of absence for multiple absences. Work which was previously assigned and due on an absence day is due on the day of return.

2.  Unexcused Absences:

Students are not allowed to make up assignments which are missed due to unexcused absences. Student absences from the classroom due to suspension

out-of-school are considered unexcused.

3. In-School Suspension:

Students assigned an in-school suspension may make up work. However, it is the student's responsibility to obtain such make-up work from classroom teachers, and it is then due on the next day the student is back in class. Failure to follow this procedure, or failure to turn in work upon return to class, will result in a failing grade being assigned for the missed work.

Grades

 The following grading scale as is published in the school agenda will be used for the class. Effort and improvement are considered in the final grading process.

A = 95-100   A- = 92-94

B+ = 89-91   B  = 83-88   B- = 82-84

C+= 78-81   C = 74-77   C- = 70-73

D+ = 67-69   D = 63-66   D- = 60-62

F= Below 60

Your nine weeks grade will be based on the following factors:
