Fri. May 27 - Daily Line Up. Discussion about various news articles .... everything from the Texas school shooting to Maud Lewis Artwork to Grilled Cheese. Assignment: Have a great summer break and continue to stay curious so that you will want to learn.   Peace.

Mon. May 23 - Daily Line Up. Assignment: YOU MUST BRING YOUR TEXTBOOK INTO OUR NEXT CL ASS MEETING FOR TURN IN. Survey all of Chapter 21. Pay particular attention to the visuals (photos, maps, graphs, tables etc......)

Thurs. May 19 -  Daily Line Up. Great discussion about non-alignment, Sub-Saharan Africa, Central America, South America, and the value of commas. Assignment: Read 20.1 & 20.2 carefully.  Pay particular attention to the visuals (maps, photos, graphs, tables, etc.... ).

Tues. May 17 - Daily Line Up. Assignment: Test over 19.3 and 19.4 next class meeting.

Thurs. May 12 - Daily Line Up. In-depth discussion about the material in 19.3 and 19.4. Many questions about the relationships between colonies and their colonizers. Suggested that 12 events would be sufficient for the number of events on table that was created for homework after Tuesday's class. Assignment: Add a column for cause to the left of your events table from Tuesday's assignment and a column to the right of the effect of the event.  Remember that your final product should be linked to the Daily Work Table.

Tues. May 10 - Daily Line Up. Assignment: Complete your table of sequenced events as are mentioned in 19.3 and 19.4. It is essential that you have this assignment completed at the beginning of our next class.

Fri. May 6 - Daily Line Up. Assignment:  Prepare for a test over the material in 19.1 and 19.2.  The test will consist of 20-25 questions on the material from the reading and notes. There will also be key vocabulary term questions.

Wed. May 4 - Daily Line Up. Worked on geography of the Middle East and North Africa. Worked on McGraw Hill guided reading. Learned how to save and upload assignments. Worked on current events and discovered that our knowledge of current events is marginal at best. Discussed the establishment of India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. Assignment: Complete guided reading 19.2 and your smart-book assignment.  

Mon. May 2 - Daily Line Up. Shared the scheduled events for the month of May. Extensive review of M.A.I.N.   Reviewed nationalism, and imperialism, and reviewed containment.  Reviewed collective security. Map work on South Asia and S.E. Asia for a daily work grade. Learned how to utilize "My Assignments" at Clever/McGraw-Hill. Worked on Smart Book and Guided Reading for 19.1 in Clever/McGraw Hill. Assignment: Complete both the Smart Book assignment and Guided reading for 19.1.   Due at the beginning of next class meeting.

Thurs. April 28 - Daily Line Up. Assignment: None. Enjoy your weekend.

Tues. April 26 - Daily Line Up. Assignment: Test next class meeting over Chapter 18. Complete your Think-Pair-Compare questions 1-9 on page 455 of your text prior to coming to next class.

Fri. April 22 - Daily Line Up. Assignment: Read 18.3 for our next class meeting.  There will be a quiz over only 18.3 next class.

Wed. April 20 - Daily Line Up. Assignment: Finish viewing and taking notes from the Cold War Oversimplified videos.  The links to those videos can be found on the Daily Line Up. Read 18.1 & 18.2 for next class meeting.  There will be a quiz over the readings.

Assignment: Watch carefully Economic Depression and Dictators. Test next class period over Chapter 15. There will be specific questions on the test that can only be answered by watching Economic Depression and Dictators.

Mon. Mar. 7 - Daily Line Up. Viewed CNN 10 and the latest information on the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Brief open question session. Work time was provided on the infographic. Assignment: Complete the infographic that contains the ten most important events related to the Communist Revolution 1905-1921. You should also complete flashcards and learn for the Quizlet stack over the Communist Revolution prior to entering our next class meeting.

Thurs. Mar. 3 - Daily Line Up. WW 1 Quest Essay completed in 30 minutes. Quest debriefing session. Video introduction to Communist Revolution in Russia 1917-1921. Assignment: Watch the remainder of the video that was started in class.  If you have issues being able to watch on your school account, please find a way to consume the video on your phone or home computer.

Tues. Mar. 1- Daily Line Up. Open questions related to WW1. Specific questions about amputees, Schlieffen Plan, Zimmerman Note, and unrestricted submarine warfare.  Powerpoint on Treaty of Verailles, Wilson's 14 Points, and debate over the Treaty.  Assignment: Complete your World War 1 Quest prior to coming to our next class meeting. Be prepare to write your response to the Quest essay in class with actual paper/pen/pencil.  You will have 30 minutes to write this response.

Fri. Feb. 25 - Daily Line Up. Analyzed an infographic on the Russo-Ukranian Conflict.  The infographic is located on the final page of the Daily Line Up. Completed a vocabulary quiz.  Spent about 30 minutes working on the World War 1 Quest. Assignment: Continue working on your World War 1 Quest. We will have about 30 minutes to work on it in our next class meeting. Tentatively plan on being assessed on World War 1 on Thursday March 3.

Assignment: Be sure to work towards reading any portions of Chapter 14 that you have not read.  There will be an opportunity for an open question period during our next class meeting.  Remember that you will be getting class time to work on your World War 1 Quest in our next class meeting.

Assignment: Proof your assigned partner's Quizlet Stack. You can find your assigned partner on today's daily line up. Remember that you can find their stack on the Daily Work Table. Complete the entire stack of flashcards and Learn that your partner created. There will be a vocabulary quiz next class meeting over Chapter 13.

Wed. Feb. 9 - Daily Line Up. Fascinating discussion about formal - informal - casual fashion. Discussed the history of Homecoming at Rossford High School. Spent a great deal of time learning about how to write an identification. Completed a 13.1/13.2 identification check. Assignment: Build a Quizlet Stack for Chapter 13. Be sure to link it to the Daily Work Table. Complete 13.3 formal outline.  Be certain to link your outline to the Daily Work Table.

Mon. Feb. 7 - Daily Line Up. Assignment: Work hard on a formal outline for Chapter 13 sections 1 and 2. Be prepared for a quiz on those two sections next class meeting.

Thurs. Jan. 6 - Daily Line Up. Completed a new method of sharing current events articles. Open question session on 10. 1 and 10.2. (was quite possibly the best open question session of the 2021-22 school year.  Assignment: Continue reading Chapter 10 and complete a formal outline of 10.3 and 10.4 for next class.

Tues. Jan. 4 - Daily Line Up. New seats were assigned for the second semester. Assignment: Read carefully 10.1 and 10.2.  Produce a formal outline for 10.1 and 10.2.  Be certain that your outline contains highlighted key vocabulary terms.

Assignment: Read carefully 9.3.  Make a list of all names that you come across in the reading and in one sentence state why they are important enough to include in our book.  You may need to do some background research on some of the names to be able to answer why they are important.

Thurs. Oct. 28 - Daily Line Up.  Assignment: Prepare for your virtual field trip presentation to the Palace of Versailles. Read 5.4 carefully.  No Cornell notes required.  Listen to six podcasts from the Age of Absolutism.  Write a three to four sentence summary of each episode that you consume and link it to the proper cell on the Daily Work Table.

Tues. Oct. 26 - Daily Line Up. Assignment: Take a 20 minute virtual field trip to the Palace of Versailles.  Be prepared to share with the class something that you discovered and what you found out about your item. Complete a set of Cornell notes for 5.3.

Wed. Oct. 20 - Daily Line Up. Spent some quality time learning key terms associated with Nation states, and nation building.  Assignment: Build a simple timeline of the Rulers of England starting with Henry VIII and ending with William and Mary. - State one or two things each is remembered for doing. This information can be found mostly in 5.2.  You may have to look up Henry VIII in another source (hint Protestant Reformation notes). Bring your timeline to class as a work in progress.

Mon. Oct. 18 - Daily Line Up. Assignment: Complete Cornell Notes for 5.1 with evidence of repetitions. Quiz over 5.1

Thurs. Oct. 14 - Daily Line Up. Assignment: Read carefully Chapter 5 sections 1 and 2. We will be learning a new note taking technique next class meeting.

Tues. Oct. 12 - Daily Line Up. Assignment: Prepare for a test over Chapter 4.  It would be wise to work on both the vocabulary and the reading content.

Fri. Oct. 8 - Daily Line Up. Assignment: Watch the Columbian Exchange video and take a quality set of notes. Do NOT link your notes....  just bring them to next class. Remember that Tuesday Oct. 12. will be the last day to turn in any make up work for the first grading period.

Wed. Oct. 6 - Daily Line Up. Assignment: Read carefully sections 4.3 and 4.4. It would be wise to consult the table of objectives near the bottom of the Daily Line Up to help you prepare for our next class meeting.

Thurs. Sept. 16  - Daily Line Up. Mr. Cox was absent. Assignment: Prepare for a test over Chapter 2 that will be given next class. It would be wise to re-read the chapter and study the Quizlet vocabulary.

Tues. Sept. 14 - Daily Line Up. - Spent some quality time with SQ3R study buddy. Pretested vocabulary and we generally need some practice.  Learned how to eat an elephant. Assignment: Complete SQ3R for 2.2 and 2.3.  There will be a vocabulary quiz next class meeting.

Fri. Sept. 10 - Daily Line Up. - Worked hard to learn the SQ3R note taking / studying technique. Assignment: Complete SQ3R notes for 2.1

Wed. Sept. 8 - Open Question period over anything related to Chapter 1. Test over Renaissance/Reformation/Counter-Reformation. Assignment: Survey Chapter 2 and bring questions from your survey to our next class meeting.

Fri. Sept. 3 - Daily Line Up. Completed items 1-4 on the Daily Line Up and completed 4:21 of item 5. Intense discussion about the Protestant Reformation and the ensuing violence that was a part of that event. Assignment: Finish the remaining portion of #5 on the Daily Line Up from the 4:21 mark. Prepare for a test next class meeting over Renaissance/Reformation/Counter Reformation.  Chapter 1

Wed. Sept. 1 - Daily Line Up. Reformation walk through. Identified Luther and the 95 Theses. Discussed the response of the Catholic Church and the use of the Inquisition. Explained how denominations are a direct result of the Reformation.  Reviewed Renaissance Art and viewed several famous works of art associated with the Renaissance. Assignment: Watch Introduction to the Reformation: Martin Luther,  bring a good set of notes to class after watching the video. Read 1.4 in the textbook. Prepare questions from your reading for class discussion.

Mon. August 30 - Daily Line Up. Intense tutorial on Italian and Northern European Renaissance. Examined similarities and differences of the Renaissance of the two regions.  Intensely studied Machiavelli and his book The Prince. Broke down "it is better to be feared than loved" and "the end justifies the means". Assignment: Watch the eight minute video "Introduction to the Renaissance".  Take a set of notes over the main ideas. Share your document with only Mr. Cox on the Daily Class work Table.  Read Chapter 1 Section 3, and prepare any questions you may have over the content.

Thurs. August 26 - Completed the Daily Line Up.  Assignment: None.   Enjoy the weekend.
